We had an amazing week!  The kids are wonderful and have transitioned better than I could have ever imagined!  What a great group of children, I am so lucky to be their teacher!  I am testing this blog to see if it works. Wish me luck!😊
This week we talked about Polar Bears and how their skin is black to absorb the heat from the sun, how they have fur on the bottom of their feet for traction and to keep them warm on the ice, and discussed what they eat.  We read The Mitten story and made mittens to put all the animals inside.  We talked about the letter W and read Where the Wild Things Are, The W Book(these are the books they brought home on Monday), sang Wimoweh and Willaby Wallaby Woo, using rhyme to teach rhyming words with our names.  We also practiced proper pencil grip, proper scissor usage, and did many cutting exercises.  I have also been doing some initial testing for the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences.  The sign-ups will be posted on Wednesday.
It was a great week!  Have a wonderful long weekend and enjoy Monday off!
***Our Letter for next week is J.  If your child had show and tell set for Monday, just have them  bring in something on Wednesday.
****One more thing-sorry!  I'm sure the children have come home telling you that I don't pass out smarties when we clean up.  This is completely true-so sorry!   Cleaning up is a task we all do together and we can work as a team to clean up the mess we all made.  I hope this is ok with you but we may get a stamp or sticker to reinforce good cleaning up in the future.
